Bonita Streich LMHC is a graduate of Upper Iowa University and trained in Play Therapy under Terry Kottman and anticipates her Registered Play Therapist Certification by the fall of 2020. Bonita works with all ages of clients beginning at age 3 to 75+. Bonita has experience treating children and adults with Autism, Sensory issues, Anger Control issues, Oppositional Defiance, Depression, and Anxiety. Bonita utilizes theriputic techniques drawing from play therapy, sand tray, Art, Music, and emotional regulation. Bonita works with both children and their care givers to problem solve behavioral issues through changes in their home environment, parenting styles, and diet. She is a mother and grandmother and enjoys spending time with her family. Before pursuing a career in counseling, Bonita served 22 years working with all ages in retail. She served years as a volunteer youth leader, a volunteer in her children’s elementary school, a volunteer cub scout leader, and a volunteer boy scout leader while raising her family. She continues to learn and take classes in order to serve her clients to her upmost ability. Her goal is to help individuals and families find the path leading to hope and healing that works for them while listening to their needs with empathy. Bonita provides traditional talk therapy and play therapy for children and adults, catering to individual needs.
